People lie all the time, even my "friend" in church. In his case, it's a matter of insecurity - he doesn't want the world to know things are not as rosy as it should be. My personal philosophy is that I'll let others take advantage of me just once, next time round I'll stay miles away. No point getting worked up about it. Thinking positive of others makes this planet a better place to live in. Smiling (nothing to do with the international delegates coming in to town) is infectious, and even if the other fellow fails to respond, I console myself he/she must be having a hard day. But I'm okay!
